annie was born in france in the 1700's she moved to haiti with her parents when she was about 10 years old,her parents later died from yellow fever,the nanny who practiced voodoo adapted annie,annie was a great study at a young age and soon she learned all she could from the nanny and some tricks on her own.

annie came to jamaica when she was 17 and marry john palmer,john own and operate the largest sugar plantation at the time in jamaica,annie was a beautiful but small woman, john was older than annie by many years,annie used her knowledge of voodoo to drive fear into and control the more than 2000 slaves that worked on the plantation.

after a few years annie got tired of john so she killed him and a few other husbands along the way,she took some of the slaves to bed also and killed them when she got bored with them,legend have it that the last lover she killed also killed her before he died.

annie was buried in a tomb behind the great house, a special ceremony was performed to keep annie's spirit inside,but her spirit escaped and haunted the grounds for years,thieves and vandals kept clear or the grounds that were vacant for years until a developer bought and restored the property that is now called the RITZ-CARLTON HOTEL.
